Microsoft Partnership Contract (MPA) Microsoft`s partnership contract replaces a list of agreements such as the Microsoft Cloud Reseller Agreement (MCRA) and the Microsoft Cloud Distributor Agreement (MCDA). Long story brief, it simplifies things and you just need the MPA to do your business. The new customer contract will be available in select regions in 2019. The new Azure experience will help meet the requirements of customers who are looking for maximum control over their own Azure services and who no longer need the administrative support contained in the Enterprise Agreement (EA) and Azure-only Server and Cloud Enrollment (SCE). It will provide customers with a quick, simple and cost-effective way to purchase and use Azure services. As a customer under an MPA, you can continue to decide who can access cost management through the Azure portal, but you are limited, like many other built-in rolls, to providing readers or contributors. Permissions for the billing profile and up are managed on the CSP page and do not currently offer granularity in the access control provided by the “Direct MCA.” Also note that from February 1, 2020, you will need to sign the Microsoft Partnership Agreement as a CSP and transfer your customers into the Microsoft customer contract, or that you are in a whole new world of difficulties if you want to purchase services for your customers: all Azure Marketplace products in your enterprise agreement registration are carried forward with subscriptions. During the transition, there are no changes to the service access of Marketplace products. Gavriella Schuster, Director of the Microsoft Channel, explains the benefits of CSP in an interview with CRN: “If a customer initially signed up for a modern commercial contract and learns that there is a partner who actually provides a whole range of services that he would prefer to have under this contract, he can easily defer this subscription to CSP… considering that this has been very difficult today, given that they are on totally different platforms. The new experiment introduced the concept of “billing profiles.” From now on, the “billing profile” is where you will receive your bill.
